Kocar’s Krazy Kubed Koncept: May 1, 2010

Welcome to Kocar’s Krazy Kubed Koncept. Artist George Kocar will re-explore the world of cubism by illuminating his already corky works and squaring up the loose ends in his exhibit featured at (art)ifical gallery. This solo exhibit by Kocar, a well seasoned artist, will include many original works on canvas as well as an interactive post-it-note wall for viewers to explore and design. Kocar’s Krazy Kubed Koncept’s opening reception will be held Saturday, May 1st from 6-9pm. An Adult after party will be held at Mullen’s on Madison (Located next to the gallery) for all viewers of Kocar’s work and (art)ificial gallery. The Vinyl Frontier: May 1st, 2010

The Vinyl Frontier is coming and just in time. On May 1st, 2010 The Pop Shop Gallery will celebrate its 5th birthday by housing a show with a classic spin! Hundreds of vintage vinyl records will be salvaged from resale shops and basements, reborn, and used as decorative wall pieces in the show entitled “The Vinyl Frontier”. These circular canvases will be a great addition to any collector’s walls. The Vinyl Frontier will be a cash and carry event! That means we will allow the work to be taken home as soon as it's sold. The early bird gets the worm or record. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, May 1st from 6-9pm. Also enjoy and adult after party at Mullen’s on Madison, (located next to the gallery) for an adult after party. This exhibit is free and open to the public.

The Pop Shop Gallery is collecting works for its upcoming shows for 2010. If you would like to participate in one or more of these shows please send up to 10 digital samples of you works to thepopshop@gmail.com with your name, rough sizes, and rough prices of works. Also, Artists should be in a 50 mile radius of Cleveland, OH. Also please list specifically which show(s) you are interested in. Submissions who fail to submit all requested information will not be considered. Rough Sizes and prices are suggested to while submitting. The 50 Dollar Show: June 12th, 2010

The Pop Shop and (art)ificial Galleries are excited to announce the return of the “The 50 Dollar Show”. A one night art extravaganza that aims to please ones pockets with an affordable price break of only fifty dollars per piece! The galleries will house close to 200 pieces by nearly 50 artists with affordable art based on a first come first serve basis.
This event will take place on Saturday June 12th, 2010 from 6-9pm. This event is free and open to the public. An adult after party will be held at Mullen’s on Madison at 9pm for all Pop Shop and (art)ificial guests.

Where's my Jetpack? Works by Sean Burns and Eric Kaplan September 4th, 2010

Where’s my Jet pack? is a duo exhibition that will be held in (art)ificial Gallery with futuristic excitement by artists Sean Burns and Eric Kaplan. The concept of the show is to combine two views of the future while having the two styles play off each other. Each work will have added elements that reference the opposing artists work, says Burns. The Opening reception will be held on Saturday, September 4th 2010 from 6-9pm. As always an adult after party will be held at Mullens (located next to the gallery) for all gallery guests.

Wednesday's Woes: Works by Rebecca Urbanski – October 9, 2010

Rebecca Urbanski opens her solo exhibition entitled “Wednesday’s Woes” in (art)ificial gallery, based on one of her favorite childhood poems. On Saturday, October 9th her inner child will be reveled within these works.  The works will also echo where our adult selves originate.  Urbanski says “Almost everything I imagined as a kid was something that scared me or made me sad... even stranger places to visit as an adult.”  Visitors will fall in love with the little girls that travel in these works while enjoying the tranquil color palette.   Following the exhibit, will be an adult after party for all of the gallery guests.  This exhibit is free and open to the public.

Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go.
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child will work hard for his living,
but the child who is born on Sabbath Day
